I f you are considering a career in the offshore oil rig worker field and are
worried about the decline of oil production due to “Global Warming Alarmists” or the advent of “Green Technology” such as wind power, solar power or green auto fuel (made from corn or other farm crops and organic waste) forget about it; oil is here to stay.

It is economically impossible to replace oil and natural gas pumped from below the earths surface with any existing or new technology.

Governor Elect Robert Mc Donnell of Virginia has petitioned Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to commence offshore drilling in the Virginia coast. There has been a 25 year moratorium on offshore drilling that expired last year.

More offshore oil rigs are being built and are on the drawing board for offshore oil fields globally. Some of these are costing as much as a billion US Dollars each.

There has never been a better time to pursue  oil rig employment. There is opportunity worldwide in this high paying field. Rig Worker Jobs are available in almost every field and trade from roughneck to geologist from cooks to nurse and of course welders, pipe fitters and engineers of all types.

The Drawbacks of working on a offshore oil rig are being away from home 2-3 weeks at a time. This can be hard for those with families.
